This place is a great Los Angeles staple. All your household and kitchen needs can be found here; bonus they have a deli and food restaurant inside as well. They have pickled eggs, pig feet, pickled sausage and more all around a smoke stop shop.

Came to old Buddha Market to pick up some Patton's hot sausage for this Sat mornings belated Valentine's/Bday breakfast for my old man, who turns 88. Pattons is the best hot sausage in LA for those who want an authentic New Orleans hot sausage experience. Those in the know used to rock with Peet's off Jefferson, but they're no longer in existence in the local neighborhood, and the new location doesn't even come close as the ownership has changed and there is no New Orleans connection. Buddha market has been rocking with authentic New Orleans products since the early seventies. Everyone else can get in line. If you want authentic red beans, butter beans, blue runners, hot sausage, and many more additives, spices and seasons that are right out of Louisiana, you need to come here. They've been doing it way, way, way longer than everyone else-and this makes perfect sense since the neighborhood blocks around here were in essence bought up by many people from New Orleans once white flight occurred back in 60s and 70's. To cook Pattons hot sausage you merely get a low fire started on a pan with a little bit of water. After about 5 minutes or so, you can poke holes in the meat with a fork and slit the meat down the middle with a knife. Then cook to your desired outcome with temperature etc. You can find the Patrons hot sausage inside the freezer as soon as you enter the store make an immediate right turn and look down. They are usually right at the bottom portion of the freezer.

Buddha Market is the absolute BEST Butcher Shop (Meat/Food) in the Windsor Hills, Baldwin Hills, View Park, Leimert Park, & Ladeara Heights areas.... On a scale of 1~ 10 (w/10 being the Absolute Best), the Service rates an 8.5, the majority of the time. The current (Jan, 2025) Restaurant w/in Buddha Market has excellent "Home Cooked" Food..., highly recommended‼‼ Thx. Buddha for your time in our Community‼

The people that worked at Buddha back before 1980, were wonderful, they would greet you and were so helpful. I also, loved that they knew their neighbors by name along with us kids. I also remembered that man dad had a tab with them and we would pay a soon as we could or by the end of the month for any groceries.

Here again to buy the famous and delicious Pete's sausages and also the outstanding Patton's sausages. Located near the iconic Nipsey Hussle square just west of Crenshaw and Slauson. There is plenty of parking which is always a plus. I also picked up some Jamaican hot sauce and some other goodies. Love love that I can always be in and out. Thank you Buddha market till next time!
